1. Introduction

Ultimate Backup®, operated by Simplified IT Products, LLC (“Ultimate Backup,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), provides software, hardware, and cloud-enabled services designed to help users securely back up, manage, create, edit, and restore their photos, videos, and files.

This Privacy Policy applies to Ultimate Backup products and services (collectively, the "Services"), including but not limited to the following:

  • The Ultimate Backup mobile software application (the "App")
  • Ultimate Backup (and related) hardware products, to the extent that they interact with the App
  • Cloud-enabled services available within the App, including KeepSafe, Find a Photo, and Manual Backup

This Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you use our Services.

2. Information We Collect

A. Information You Provide

Depending on how you use the Services, we may collect the following:

  • As part of the account creation process, we collect email address, name, and other account identifiers. These identifiers are encrypted in transit.
  • If you contact our support team, we collect all related communications with our team members.
  • When using the Ultimate Backup hardware in its capacity as a local backup solution in concert with the App,
  • If you choose to access one of the App's cloud-enabled services, we collect the files (including but not limited to photos, videos, and contacts) that you choose to back up, analyze, or manage. We also collect any optional metadata you add (e.g., tags, captions, organization data). These files and metadata are encrypted in transit. We collect these files and metadata solely to enable the functionality of the underlying service.

When Ultimate Backup hardware is used without any of the optional cloud-based services enabled, your files are not transmitted over the Internet or otherwise sent off-site or shared with any third party.

You remain the owner of your content at all times. We do not sell personal information.

B. Automatically Collected Information

When you use the App, we may automatically collect:

  • Device and system information (device model, OS version, application version)
  • IP address and network connection data
  • App usage and interaction data
  • Diagnostic data and crash reports

C. Information from Third-Party Services

Some of our Services rely on third-party infrastructure or SDKs for analytics, diagnostics, or subscription management. These providers may collect limited technical data in accordance with their own privacy policies.

When you enable cloud-based features such as KeepSafe, Find a Photo, and Manual Backup, certain content and related metadata may be securely transmitted to and stored on Ultimate Backup-managed or third-party cloud infrastructure. We note that:

  • Cloud features are optional and enabled by user choice
  • Content is used solely to provide the requested functionality
  • We do not access user content except as necessary to operate the Services

5. Legal Bases for Processing (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, we process personal data under one or more of the following legal bases:

  • Performance of a contract (providing requested Services)
  • Legitimate interests (service improvement, security, analytics)
